Porirua Branch of the New Zealand Society of Genealogists is a group of people with the same interests - family history and genealogical research - who have been meeting in Porirua for 20 years.
Branch membership of over 90 is spread from Tawa (the northern-most suburb of Wellington city) in the south to Pukerua Bay at the northern boundary of Porirua city. Porirua is one of the cities comprising metropolitan Wellington, and its local communities are found on both sides of State Highway 1.
National resources such as the National Library of New Zealand and Archives New Zealand are almost on the city’s doorstep.
We thank Mana Community Grants Foundation for providing funding towards the establishment of this website, and Porirua City Council for providing the banner photograph of Porirua city and harbour.
